A pair of Robonova-1 kit robots teamed up with “Chi” (Naoki Nokubo) of the defunct pop-idol trio Shūchishin for a special performance on Fuji TV’s “The Best House 1-2-3″ variety show last night.
The new trio — named “Robo-Shūchishin” — performed “Shūchishin,” the original group’s self-titled hit single. Although the robot replacements sang off-key and sounded rather robotic, one of the little guys pulled off a surprise by taking its pre-show “break a leg” instructions literally

Rome - Italian police said on Friday they have arrested a man for sequestering his daughter and forcing her to have sex with him for 25 years.
The man in the northern city of Turin also incited his 40-year-old son, who was also arrested, to have sex with his own daughters, who range in age from six to 20, police said.
The father, a 63-year-old junk vendor, allegedly raped his daughter, now 34, regularly since she was nine years old, La Repubblica newspaper reported, citing investigators.
The Italian press likened the case to Austrian Josef Fritzl, who was sentenced to life last week for enslaving and raping his daughter for 24 years.
The Italian woman, given the pseudonym of Laura in the Italian press, was not allowed to leave home without her father and spent her days locked in a dark room, police said.
She stopped going to school at age 13, according to La Repubblica.
The son was encouraged to imitate the father. He is accused of raping and mistreating his four daughters, now aged six, eight, 12 and 20, and forcing them to watch the sex sessions.
The investigation began last October, when Laura lodged a complaint against her brother, accusing him of sequestering and raping her for two weeks after she fled to his home following an argument with their father.
The five victims are under psychological care at a shelter.

RAT ATTACK IN INDIA
Throughout Asia, the bamboo plant is revered as a potent symbol of longevity and good fortune.
But in northeastern India's Mizoram state, there's one bamboo species, Melocanna baccifera, that causes dread. The plant flowers every 48 to 50 years, and its blooming brings tens of millions of hungry rats. After they devour the bamboo fruit, the rats start consuming crops, destroying entire fields—and local livelihoods—in a day or two.
The phenomenon, which occurred in Mizoram from late 2006 to 2008, is known in the local language as mautam or "bamboo death." Here, three adult rats venture out at night to feast on maize.

Cyberdyne Robo-Suit

The robot suit receives signals from the brain that move over the skin with the anticipation of muscle movement—the signals are translated to robo-movement as Cyberdyne does its thing. Sankai refuses that his robotic suit technology be used for military purposes, saying “I believe technology becomes useful only when it works for people.” Future implementation of the technology could be used to help construction workers and others who have to lift heavy loads, making a hundred pounds feel like much less. Cyberdyne will be leasing 500 of the battery-operated suits this week.
